Some fragrances start strong and finish even stronger — and not always in a good way. Lattafa Badee Amethyst is one of those scents.
Opening Impression
The first spray of Bdee Amethyst genuinely impressed me. I picked up a beautiful blend of oud and bergamot — smooth, slightly fresh, and rich. For a moment, I thought this might be a winner.
Dry Down Experience
Unfortunately, that moment didn’t last. As the fragrance settled, the rose completely took over. Not a soft, romantic rose. Not a creamy or airy floral. This was a sharp, dominant rose that drowned out everything else.
Once the rose arrived, there was no balance — just rose, and more rose.
Performance
To be fair, this fragrance performs exceptionally well:
- Projection: Very strong
- Longevity: Long-lasting
However, strong performance only works if you enjoy the scent itself — and in this case, I didn’t.
Overall Verdict
❌ Not for me.
While it opens beautifully, the dry down turns into a rose-forward experience that I personally found unpleasant.
Who This Might Be For
- Hardcore rose lovers
- Fans of bold, loud fragrances
- People who enjoy sharp floral dominance
Who Should Skip It
- Anyone sensitive to rose
- Those who prefer smooth, blended compositions
- People looking for elegance over intensity
Final Thoughts:
This fragrance isn’t bad — it’s just very specific. If rose is your thing, you may love it. If not, this one will likely be overwhelming.
